In the book A Tale of Two Cities a character named Lucie Manette is described by many characters as being compassionate. People love her for the way she is in the book and she is seen as a “golden thread” and “Ever busily winding the golden thread that bound them all together, weaving the service of her happy influence through the tissue of all their lives, and making it predominate nowhere…” She is considered to be bringing her family together through love and throughout the book she touches peoples’ lives. Through out reading this book and getting to be familiar with her character has made me want to be a better person. I wish that everyone could be as caring and thoughtful as Lucie because there wouldn’t be as many problems in the world and people would always have someone caring for them. Even though she is not a real person, the character that Charles Dickens created showed me that the way Lucie is, is the way people should be and I want to better myself and start being more accepting of people and caring more.
